About
You can call me Liz. I grew up in New York City and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and dance from Adelphi University. I later received my Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Columbia University.
I have worked as a pediatric OT in school and home settings since 2008. Through these experiences, I have worked closely with many families and have learned the power of collaboration. My goal is always to foster independence in the children I work with and to empower parents/caregivers to be active members in their child’s therapeutic process.
My passion for educating has grown stronger through various experiences. As an adjunct professor at Long Island University for 7 years, I gained invaluable experience in educating about sensory processing, behavioral techniques, and the therapeutic process. Educating others has reinvigorated me and allowed me to share my passion for OT in a truly meaningful way.
Some of my most profound work has been with a non-profit organization to provide sustainable therapy and design training materials for children with disabilities and their caregivers in developing countries. I have also gained a wealth of cultural competence through these experiences that continues to drive my professional practice.
