Why I do this work
I kept seeing the same thing happen at T-ball, gymnastics, story time, preschool, and the park.
A child was struggling. The parent was embarrassed, frustrated, or prentending everything was fine because what else are you suppose to do when people are looking?
And most of the time the parent was not careless. They were missing information. Once they understood what their child needed, the whole situation started to shift.
That is why Skills to Thrive OT exists. Parents do not need more shame. They need practical help that fits real life.I help parents of toddlers and preschoolers better understand their child and give them practical strategies they can use every day to make life at home, school, and in the community easier. We also help parents feel more confident.
